Adolf Schacherleitner buys a drafting board and starts designing machines as an independent engineer for various clients.

A few months later, the decision is made not to stop at drawing. The company relocates to Gmunden and begins to manufacture the designed machines mechanically. Two employees are there from the beginning. The first machine is a simple stapling machine, followed by the first machining center.

Whether it's a compact machine or a larger system, the optimal machining solution is ever determined by the customer's specific workpiece requirements.

SEMA exhibits at ROBOT. The first trade show appearance is a success and confirms the course of the innovative machine building concept.

As a young entrepreneur, Adolf Schacherleitner also recognizes the growth opportunities in the specialty solutions sector, not only in the local market but also beyond.

The old brickworks in Traunkirchen is purchased, renovated, and transformed into the new headquarters in 1994. SEMA, actually an abbreviation for "Schacherleitner Elektronik Maschinenbau," continues to grow.

SEMA becomes a training company and now trains young machine builders.

The first new assembly hall is completed and occupied. The basic structure remains to this day.

The first large rotary transfer system for a prominent automotive customer efficiently processes components across 12 stations. Ten years after its founding, SEMA already has a team of 30 specialists.

For the millennium, ISO 9001/2000 certification is obtained, significantly strengthening the organization's standards and development since then.

Space quickly becomes tight. An expansion of the production area is needed.

The construction of "Hall 3" is underway for the next expansion. At the same time, SEMA Precision Parts is founded.

Efficient rotary transfer systems have been a pronounced competency in SEMA machine tools' portfolio since the beginning. In addition to optimizing machining processes, they now also tackle organizational challenges such as complex special transports or unconventional setups in the customer's facility.

With the new machine concept HDC, SEMA takes the first step towards standard machines and a modular kit system. At the same time, the strengths from custom machine building are further expanded.

SEMA now employs over 100 people and celebrates its 20th anniversary.

After successful expansion, the next hall complex is opened, doubling the production area to 7,500 m².

The new training workshop is inaugurated, and the production area is expanded again to nearly 9,000 m².

Installation of a photovoltaic system with 800 m² and 90 kW peak power.

Ten years after the initial standardization, SEMA's offerings have evolved significantly. The new machine series (mostly high-efficiency rotary transfer and end machining machines) are increasingly in demand alongside custom machines, automation solutions, and the in-house component brand.

In the anniversary year (30 years of SEMA), the Traunkirchen site is expanded again. Nearly 200 employees perform on almost 12,000 m² of working space.

First certificate for outstanding apprenticeship training: INEO Award. Also, awarded Charta - "Wir geben Zukunft" by the Federal Ministry for Digitalization and Business.

SEMA expands collaborations with schools and university programs.

Innovations in the machine park further enhance the productivity and quality of our in-house component manufacturing, ensuring the availability of highly precise modules and spare parts.

Expansion of photovoltaic installations - Our entire system produces so much electricity that we can cover a large part of our sustainable power supply. With 500 kW peak, we cover 60% of our total consumption. Our electricity has been 100% green for years

First-time environmental certification according to ISO 14001

Delivery of the first rotary transfer machine with over 100 NC axes (MT-X). Also, the debut of the standardized machine concept for precise high-volume production MT-C at EMO Hannover.
